Calamagrostis arundinacea
Upright and clump forming, tufted grass. Forms a mound of arching narrow grey-green leaves. Fluffy, arching pink tinged flower plumes in late Summer and Autumn fade to a silvery-grey. Makes an attractive dried flower. Garden plant for flowerbed in well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Good in beds and borders. Excellent for mass planting but also good as a specimen or in large containers. Approximate height and spread- 100cm x 70cm.
Miscanthus sin. ‘Grosse Fontäne’
A large architectural grass which adds height, structure, and movement to the garden. Narrow, erect to arching, dark green leaves with a slight white mid rib, will form a large clump. Foliage will gain tones of orange, red, and purple in Autumn. In late Summer silky pink panicles emerge and age to silvery white. Feathery panicles may be used in flower arranging or also dried. Garden plant for flowerbed in moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Protect from excessive Winter wet. Good in beds, borders, coastal, city or courtyard gardens. Height 240 cm, spread 150 cm.
Miscanthus sinensis ‘China’
An architectural grass which adds height, structure, and movement to the garden. Narrow and arching, olive-green leaves form a large clump. In late Summer and Autumn silky panicles emerge a brownish-red and age to silvery-pink. Garden plant for flowerbed in moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Protect from excessive Winter wet. Good in beds, borders, coastal, city or courtyard gardens. Height 160cm, spread 90 cm.
