Borage
Height up to 60cm. Annual. Use young leaves to flavour salads. Infused leaves make refreshing drinks. Sunny position. Borage (borago officinalis), also known as a starflower.Traditionally borage is growing in the gardens for culinary and medicinal uses,but commercial cultivation is mainly as an oilseed.
Bronze Fennel
Herbaceous perennial that grows upto 180 cm. Plant in herb garden or in border in fertile, moist but well drained soil in full sun.
Fresh aniseed-flavoured seeds and leaves. Leaves are used with oily fish, seafood, and salad dressing. Seeds flavour breads, curries, apple pie and fish sauce. Sprouted seed are used as a salad herb.
Purple foliage. A tonic for the nervous system. Height 180 cm.
Brunnera ‘Jack of Diamonds’ ®
A wonderful perennial that will bring sparkle and interest to shady areas. Forms a spreading clump of silver heart-shaped leaves, frosty in appearance. The large leaves carry striking dark green veining. Clusters of small, dainty looking, baby blue 'forget-me-not' flowers in Spring. Attracts pollinators. Garden plant for the flowerbed in moist but well drained soil in full or partial shade. Good in beds, borders, for under-planting, woodland style gardens. Also suitable in large pots or containers. Calamagrostis arundinacea
Upright and clump forming, tufted grass. Forms a mound of arching narrow grey-green leaves. Fluffy, arching pink tinged flower plumes in late Summer and Autumn fade to a silvery-grey. Makes an attractive dried flower. Garden plant for flowerbed in well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Good in beds and borders. Excellent for mass planting but also good as a specimen or in large containers. Approximate height and spread- 100cm x 70cm.
